Inside, the driver and passenger seats swivel 360 degrees, expanding the living space. A versatile bench seat, complete with custom cushions, pairs with a swivel table that adapts to various configurations or can be easily stowed. Thoughtful storage solutions keep everything neatly organized and within reach, including a spacious garage accessible from both the rear doors and the interior cabin, perfect for bikes and gear. The oversized queen bed is removable and accommodates two comfortably, featuring side wall bump-outs for horizontal sleeping, allowing increased additional usable space in the galley. For those who prefer indoor showers, there’s a compact yet efficient stowaway overhead hanging shower with heated water. The ceiling features L-Track single stud anchor points for flexible gear storage.
Handcrafted cabinetry made from Baltic Birch and adorned with high-pressure, impact-resistant laminate ensures durability, aesthetics, and easy cleaning. Soft-close hinges and drawer slides adorn all cabinets. Rugged thermoplastic flooring with anti-slip properties and upholstery-lined walls makes for easy maintenance. Thinsulate insulation throughout ensures comfort in all seasons, complemented by a rooftop fan for ventilation and a diesel-powered heater under the passenger seat for cold-weather camping. A 12-volt rooftop air conditioning unit will run for hours off the battery bank and keep the van cool in the summer.
The power system relies on a 400 Ah lithium-ion battery bank, recharged by 200 watts of rooftop solar panels and a 30-amp smart alternator charger. A shore power connection is also available. A smart 3000-watt inverter/charger meets all AC power requirements. LED lighting, including recessed ceiling lights, under-cabinet lights, and under-bed lighting, illuminates the interior. The kitchen is fully equipped with an induction stovetop, a generous basin sink with cutting board, and a 12-volt Isotherm refrigerator/freezer. A 20-gallon water tank, along with a 4-gallon water heater, serves both the sink and shower hose, while a flushable cassette toilet is discreetly housed in a slider drawer. The grey water tank under the sink features an auto-draining valve switch.
The Sprinter’s diesel engine, paired with its new transmission, offers ample power for navigating mountain roads with a fully loaded van, boasting quick acceleration, faster heating in winter, and quieter idling. It also requires less maintenance and achieved 22 mpg during testing of this fully loaded van. The weight of this two-wheel drive van provides excellent traction on winter roads when combined with snow tires. An Agile Off-Road STS Shock Package Upgrade has been added to help with body roll and stabilize the van in high cross wind situations, a must have for safety and stability in these high roof vans.
