Selling our 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 diesel camper van with approximately 55,000 miles. This is a professionally built Colorado Camper Van (CCV) conversion that was thoughtfully designed for adventure, comfort, and versatility.
When we originally had this van built, our goal was to create something that could comfortably accommodate our family while still maintaining an open, spacious interior. We wanted a van that could handle extended road trips, off-grid camping, beach days, and everything in between without feeling cramped or overloaded with unnecessary features.
One of the things that truly sets this van apart is the custom electric pop-top roof. With the push of a button, the roof raises to create an additional sleeping area. Combined with the convertible lower sleeping area, it provides sleeping flexibility that’s difficult to find in a standard 144” Sprinter.
The interior was designed with practicality in mind. Both front seats swivel to face the living area, the rear seating provides additional passenger space, and the convertible dinette creates a comfortable place to relax or sleep. There’s plenty of custom cabinetry and overhead storage throughout.
We specifically chose to keep cooking outside rather than installing a permanent indoor stove. This keeps cooking odors and grease out of the van and allows for a much more open interior layout.
The van also features an Aqua-Hot diesel-powered heating and hot-water system, an exterior hot-and-cold shower, an Isotherm refrigerator, rooftop air conditioning, and a large electric retractable awning.
For off-grid adventures, the van has a dedicated AGM house battery system, roof-mounted Zamp solar panels, and alternator charging while driving. The refrigerator, lighting, heating controls, water pump, and USB charging operate off the house batteries. The rooftop A/C and standard 120V outlets require shore power or a generator.
When I originally had the van built, I specifically requested that the electrical system allow for an inverter to be added later if desired. We never ended up needing one for the way we camped.
The exterior is where this van really stands out.
It’s equipped with a custom full-length roof rack, Aluminess exterior ladder, surfboard mounts, Owl Vans rear spare tire carrier, exterior storage box, and a 1UP USA bike rack.
It also features Black Rhino wheels wrapped in Falken Wildpeak all-terrain tires, a Van Compass 2” leveling kit, auxiliary exterior lighting, and a matching full-size spare.
For connectivity, the van has a roof-mounted Starlink Flat High Performance system and a WeBoost cellular signal booster.
We have really enjoyed this van and have made some great memories traveling with it. Unfortunately, we simply aren’t using it as much as we once did, and we’d rather see someone else enjoy everything it has to offer.
This isn’t a basic camper conversion. It’s a professionally built, thoughtfully designed adventure van with an extensive list of upgrades that would be difficult and expensive to replicate.
