Dear new owners of the sweetest van in the world,
We can’t believe we’re saying this but it’s time to let our baby go. Miles means so much to us and yet, we’re starting a new chapter in our lives and Miles deserves someone new to care for him.
In the fall of 2020, we sold our house and almost all of our belongings and purchased Miles from a dealership in South Carolina. Miles started out as a 15-passenger van for a church, but we got to work right away, tearing the seats out and completely building Miles into what he is today.
It’s been quite the journey as we were stoked to be almost done with our first build but lost Lindsay’s mom right before we finished and were to meet her in the Florida Keys for the first leg of our cross-country trip. After that, Miles did go down to Florida with us for 6 months while we renovated her mom’s house and inherited her two dogs.
In 2022, when we wrapped up with her mom’s affairs, we had a decision to make about the van but ultimately decided to follow through with our dreams to travel in and make Miles our home. BUT, we decided the original build we were almost done with needed a complete overhaul to accommodate three dogs instead of one. So, in 2022, the rebuilding began. While it was frustrating to start over, we 1000% believe it was the right choice. Taking what we knew worked and what needed to be changed altogether. We redesigned and structured our tiny house on wheels to accommodate everything we could think of.
Miles was a labor of love and a lot of hard work and is one of our proudest achievements. In May of 2022, we finally set out for a cross-country trip that ultimately led us to settle down in our new home, Colorado.
Miles was our home for almost 2.5 years before moving to Colorado, and we traveled full-time for a good while before that. Anyway, enough of the origin story. We just thought it was important that you know how loved and cared for our home was and is.
