We decided to sell our beloved camper van. This camper van is perfect for a single person, couple, or family of five (like us). We built this van ourselves in 2020 and were very intentional to make it incredibly modular, well-built, and functional. If you want, you can remove everything in 5 minutes to have an empty box van… or have it set up with a queen-over-queen bunk bed. The beds come out, the beds can change locations, and the bench seat can be removed as well.
Key inclusions in our custom build:
Van – 2018 Promaster 2500 159 WB, 44,000 miles currently and have religiously changed the oil. Van came with front two windows tinted. We purchased it from Boulder Dodge / Ram.
Keys – 2 keys, one with remote start equipped.
Wall Construction – All walls have automotive cloth (looks nicer than all that wood you always see!) which has a padded backing to keep it soft and sound dampening. Walls / floor were well insulated with rigid insulation.
Beds – Can all be moved around and have foam cushions in durable exterior-rated zipper covers that can be removed / washed.
Bench Seat – Purchased brand new from someone who had a Ford Transit. It is bolted with auto-rated hardware through the floor and alongside the frame points. All three seats have seat belts and can slightly recline.
Exterior Features – 200w of Renogy solar panels installed on the roof to charge the cabin battery, protective bumper installed, Fiama extendable awning installed that can be ground or van-mounted, metal ladder installed on back to access solar panels, Lolo Racks 6-bike carrier (mountain, kid, or road bikes work on this!), tires / rims were upgraded and are in great shape, Sumo springs / bump stops added to front back for a better ride, front of the van got a spacer lift kit installed at a professional automotive shop (looks way nicer this way!)
Interior Features – Window covers made for all windows with built-in insulation, plastic large bins fit under the seats and fridge, metal cabinet for storage, Velcro-front floor cabinet to house the Goal Zero 3000 cabin battery that is charged from the roof, standard outlets and USB outlets throughout, lights in two zones with dimmers, front seats both can swivel to face backwards, trash can on back of passenger seat, and a Dometic dual-zone electric refrigerator (can keep ice cream too!). As a bonus, it comes with a Buddy Heater (never used, new in box), a Dometic toilet (new, never used), a Stanley 2 gallon water jug, and a small piece of “turf” to throw down outside when you park. There are games, first aid, and matches in the prefab metal cabinet that has been installed. Also, we installed multiple wall-mounted mesh / stretch pockets for gear throughout along with a fan mounted to the wall that can be pointed anywhere. The roof has the standard Max Air ventilation fan / remote that can pull air in / out and adjust in speed. Three pop-up Goal Zero solar charging lights will be included.
Rear Beds – Can be easily moved around, but ideally can be a lower single… a bunk… or an upper single with storage (for bikes?) below.
