2018 Ram Promaster 2500 Camping Van

This is a comfortable DIY build-out that provides an excellent camping experience. It served us as we climbed and camped all across the US and Canada - a real treat to come home to when hiking back out of the mountains! It’s been a reliable companion, but as our family is soon to grow, we need something with an additional seat or two. This van will work well whether you’re driving down the coast, to the crag, or stealth camping on a cross-country trip.

Vehicle:

- 2018 Ram Promaster 2500 high roof.

- Front-wheel drive, gasoline engine.

- 82,000 miles.

- Up to date on all maintenance.

- New drivetrain at 40,000 miles - replaced under warranty.

- Falken Wildpeak AT tires with matching full size spare.

Build:

- Swivel passenger seat.

- Bench seating behind driver’s seat.

- Detachable or stowable lagoon table goes between bench and swivel seat.

- Magnetic close bug net for side door.

- Screened sheet metal front window inserts for ventilation.

- Iceco fridge.

- Maxair roof fan.

- Two-burner propane stove and oven.

- 5’10” long queen-width mattress.

- Generous drawers, under-bed cabinet, and overhead cabinets.

- Huge garage space under the bed accessible from the rear doors.

- Magnetic insulated shades for rear windows, blackout curtain to seal off cab.

Electric:

- 1,000wh Goal Zero Yeti 1000.

- 200w of solar panels on roof.

- 120w alternator connection charges battery while van is running.

- LED lighting in the ceiling.

- LED indirect mood lighting under the overhead cabinets.

- USB outlets for charging phones, laptops, etc.

- 120v outlets powered by the Goal Zero inverter.

- No shore power.

Plumbing:

- Sink with Shurflo pump.

- Two exchangeable seven-gallon fresh water jugs.

- One seven-gallon gray water jug.

- Sink can drain either to gray water jug or to the ground.

- Urinal funnel drains to ground.

- No water hookups.
