2008 Ford E-250 Camper Van — $13,500 OBO
187,000 miles | Fully built out & Title in Hand
After a year and a half of full-time van life, it’s time for me to find Ferguson a new home.
I bought Ferguson in South Carolina and drove her all the way across the country to California. I’ve lived in her full-time for the past year and a half, exploring Southern California, visiting national parks, and taking her on countless adventures.
She has been an absolutely wonderful home on wheels, and it honestly feels bittersweet to let her go. I’m currently working on an island and no longer need a van, so I’m hoping to find someone who will love her as much as I have.
THE BEST PART — SHE’S INCREDIBLY INCOGNITO
One of my favorite things about Ferguson is that she doesn’t look like a camper van from the outside. She looks like a basic work/electrical company van, which has been amazing for stealth camping.
I’ve lived in her full-time for a year and a half and have never had anyone knock on my door or window and ask me to move. She’s very low-key from the outside, while having a cozy, fully functional home inside.
She also has a standard-height roof, which means she fits in most parking garages and doesn’t have the height restrictions that come with many camper vans.
THE BUILD
The interior is made with beautiful, high-quality wood and has everything you need to comfortably live and travel:
• Solar panels
• House battery
• 3000W Renogy power inverter
• Electrical water pump
• 7-gallon fresh water tank + gray water setup
• Full sink
• Sink can be used as an outdoor shower
• Two-burner propane stove
• Cooking table that extends out of the van
• Maxxair ceiling fan
• Full-size bed + mattress
• Havelock wool insulation
• Lots of storage
• Full-size closet with hanger rod
• Secret safe/storage compartment
• Swivel front seat
• Electrical lighting throughout
• Multiple charging ports throughout the van
• Roof rack rated to hold 100 lbs
• Tow hitch
• Airbags
The solar setup has been fantastic for me. I’ve lived in the van full-time and the system has consistently stayed very well charged.
MECHANICALLY
Ferguson is a 2008 Ford E-250 with approximately 187,000 miles.
I’ve taken really good care of her during my ownership, including regular oil changes and routine maintenance. She has never had a mechanical issue and has been incredibly dependable throughout my year and a half of full-time travel. Ferguson passed the California SMOG test on 9/3/2026.
• Runs and drives great
• AC works wonderfully
• No accidents during ownership
• No mechanical issues during my ownership
• New car battery approximately 1.5 years ago
• New alternator approximately 1.5 years ago
• Brakes approximately 2 years old and running great
• Regular oil changes and maintenance
I’ve driven her across the country and all over Southern California, so she’s definitely been tested!
THE QUIRKS — I WANT TO BE HONEST
• Windshield has a crack and needs to be replaced
• One door is a green replacement door — the previous owner replaced it after a wind storm
• Driver’s seat has some tape on it, but nothing a seat cover can’t hide
• Small body dents and cosmetic imperfections
• A little rust on the back right of the body — I’ve treated it with rust spray and it has not grown during my ownership
• Two rear tires will need to be replaced soon
• RPM gauge gets stuck at 5 and does not reflect the actual RPMs; the van itself runs and drives normally
• 15/17 mpg
None of these issues have prevented me from living and traveling in her, and I’ve priced her accordingly.
If you’re looking for a reliable, already-built camper and don’t want to spend months and thousands of dollars doing a conversion yourself, Ferguson is ready to go.
I’ve put a lot of love into this van and I’m really hoping to find someone who will take her on some amazing adventures of their own.
