2006 Ford E450 Dually Camper Conversion — 77k Miles — Triton V10 — Off-Grid Ready

Selling my self-built 2006 Ford E450 dually camper conversion with only 77,000 miles. It has the Triton V10 gas engine, dually rear axle, real towing capability, and a very complete off-grid camper build already installed.

We have used this rig for towing, including pulling our 2017 Subaru Forester, and my wife and I lived out of it for about 2 years. The layout was not just built to look good in pictures — it has been tested in real life and works well.

This is not a bare-bones van build. It has a raised bed, kitchen, indoor shower, composting toilet, solar, generator, A/C, heat, water system, entertainment setup, roof storage, and lots of cabinet space. It would be great for road trips, boondocking, weekend camping, hunting trips, ski trips, working on land, or as a comfortable mobile base while developing property.

The E450/Triton V10 platform is not going to get Sprinter fuel mileage, but that is also part of why this is a good value. It is a simple, strong, capable platform that is much cheaper to buy, build, repair, and maintain than a Sprinter conversion. Even accounting for worse fuel mileage, you could drive this a long way and still be into it for far less than the purchase price, build cost, and maintenance of a comparable Sprinter-style camper.

This is a self-built custom conversion, but it was built with help from my dad, who is an engineer and home builder. A lot of thought went into the layout, structure, storage, electrical, plumbing, and overall usability. It is not a factory RV, so it has normal wear and quirks like any custom build, but it was designed to be practical, comfortable, and very capable off-grid.

At this price, there is also a lot of value in the individual components alone. Between the solar setup, battery bank, generator, roof A/C, awning, plumbing system, toilet, tanks, appliances, electronics, cabinets, and other materials, someone could realistically take this apart and sell individual pieces if they wanted to. I would much rather sell it complete, but the build has enough installed equipment that the parts alone represent a lot of value.

The layout is very functional. The raised bed gives you a lot of storage underneath, the kitchen has good usable counter space, and the indoor bathroom/shower setup makes it much more comfortable than a typical van build. The fresh water tank being mounted inside is also a big plus for colder-weather use.

Known things:

One side of the chest fridge/freezer is not currently working, but the separate dorm-style fridge/freezer works properly. There are also a couple exterior scratches, but nothing that affects function.

This would be a great rig for someone who wants a capable off-grid camper with a lot already done and understands/appreciates custom builds.
