This van is a rare, purpose-built blank canvas for someone who wants to build a serious vanlife / overland rig on the right platform.
My original plan was to turn it into a family overland beast. I specifically hunted for an Econoline because there simply is not another van platform with the same aftermarket support and proven path for serious off-road upgrades. When I found this V10 E350 in this condition — already fitted with a Fiberine high top, side windows, and roof fan — I jumped on it. That roof/top setup alone and cost $5K (I have receipt or just call Fiberine and ask what a 24 hightop that's reinforced to 300lb load, side windows and fan-tastic fan run).
The only reason I am selling is layout reality. Once I started designing the interior, I realized I could not fit everything my family needs while also keeping four certified forward-facing belted seats plus the toilet/shower/privacy setup required for multi-day boondocking with my wife and kids. For a two-person build, this thing is exactly what I would keep. For my family use case, I need to move to a Transit and accept staying closer to established roads.
Mechanically, this is exactly the kind of high-mileage Econoline you want: well cared for, no rust issues, strong records, and recently gone through by my mechanic. I registered and smogged it, then took it straight in and told him to find anything that was not tip-top. The list was short: manifold seals, rear differential fluid, A/C vacuum/service, and a new radiator so the transmission cooling could be routed through it for two-stage cooling on heavy hill climbs. I just spent about $3,100 on that work and have the receipts plus inspection notes available.
Yes, it has 310k miles, but the 6.8L V10 is the right engine to start with on this platform. Reman engines are relatively inexpensive compared with many other platforms, and because swaps generally need to be like-for-like, starting with the V10 matters. This one pulls strong and you will feel it on the test drive. The transmission was fully rebuilt about 25k miles ago. You will have a hard time finding an E-Series this mechanically sorted in this price range.

Build it your way: two-person adventure rig, Moto/MTB/surf van, hunting/fishing basecamp, or full overland conversion. Or, you could throw a matress and a bucket in the back and hit the road for the rest of the summer, build it over the winter.
Priced to move, but I am not desperate. I mainly need the space so I can bring in a Transit and start the family build. Please no lowball offers — I know this is already a strong deal for the platform, condition, and included upgrades.
