This is a 2017 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500, 170-inch wheelbase, high roof, custom converted into a comfortable, fully capable home on wheels.
It is diesel, fully off-grid capable, and thoughtfully set up for real travel. It has a tiled stand-up shower, composting toilet, Isotherm Cruise 130 fridge, butcher block counters, a lounge that seats four and converts into an Olympic queen bed, 800 watts of solar over a 460Ah lithium battery bank, and 50 gallons of fresh water paired with 40 gallons of grey.
In simple terms, it gives you the ability to park somewhere beautiful and actually stay there comfortably.
I lived in this van, on and off, for the better part of two years. It has been my home, my office, and the vehicle that let me see a lot of the country in a way I am incredibly grateful for.
WHO THIS VAN IS FOR
This van is for someone who wants to step into van life with a build that is already proven, livable, and ready to use.
It would be a great fit for someone who works remotely, wants to travel for extended periods, enjoys national parks and scenic routes, or simply wants a comfortable camper van with a real bathroom, real kitchen, real workspace, and strong off-grid capability.
Starlink has been an excellent source of fast and reliable WiFi. The 3000W Victron inverter and 460Ah lithium bank make it easy to live comfortably on the road. There is hot water, a full indoor shower, a large fridge, generous storage, and a layout that works well for day-to-day living.
The van is also well insulated and holds heat nicely in cooler weather. A plug-in space heater works well when needed, and between the insulation, the electrical setup, and the overall layout, it has been a very comfortable all-season travel setup for me.
WHY THIS VAN STANDS APART
When I looked at comparable 170-inch Sprinter conversions, the thing that stood out most about this van was how usable the space is. This one gives you a lounge, a big bed, a bathroom, a kitchen, and enough water and power to make extended travel feel much easier.
The lounge layout is one of my favorite parts of the build. It gives you a place to work, eat, relax, and host, then converts into a very comfortable and surprisingly large bed. For reference, I am 6 feet 3, my girlfriend is 6 feet, and we fit comfortably with our 70-pound golden retriever and 15-pound terrier mix.
The electrical system is another major strength. In strong sun, the solar regularly brings in around 500 to 600 watts in real-world conditions. While driving, the alternator charging typically adds another 550 to 600 watts. You also have 30-amp shore power when available. So whether you are driving, parked in the sun, or plugged in at a campsite, the van has multiple ways to keep itself powered.

SERVICE AND DOCUMENTATION
There is no big builder badge on this van, but there is a very clear record of care.
I have 29 invoices, digitized, dated, and organized, along with a maintenance log I kept throughout my ownership. I also logged diesel fill-ups because I wanted to understand the van, track its usage, and take the best care of it that I could.
It has been serviced on Mercedes intervals the whole time I have owned it. Oil was changed every 5,000 to 8,000 miles. When something needed attention, I addressed it, took it to the appropriate shop when needed, and kept the documentation.
The complete file goes to the buyer at closing, and serious buyers are welcome to review the records before making an offer.
THE HONEST SECTION
I would rather be clear about the small things up front than have anyone feel surprised later.
Known items already considered in the price:
- Tires are usable and have tread left, but they are not new.
- There are minor exterior dents, scuffs, and painted-over cosmetic marks.
- The butcher block counters are worn and would look great with sanding and refinishing.
There are also a few quirks, which I think is normal with any custom van that has actually been used and lived in.
The battery box can run warm under heavier load on hot days and may need a short period of venting. The fridge has a known wiring quirk that has been managed and documented. None of this has kept me from using and enjoying the van, but I want the next owner to understand it the same way I do.
I have written these items down clearly so there are no mysteries.
PROVEN THROUGH REAL USE
Through the Smoky Mountains, the Maine coast, the Tetons, Sedona, Telluride, the Pacific Coast, the Gulf, and a lot of places in between. It has been my home and my office, and it has carried me through a chapter of life I will always be thankful for.
That real use is part of what makes it special. The systems have been tested in normal life, not just in theory.
WHY I AM SELLING
Life has changed in a good way.
I met someone incredible, plans are forming, and St. Pete, Florida has become home base. I still love this van and what it has meant to me, but it feels like the right time for someone else to take it into their own chapter.
I am not selling it because I stopped believing in the van. I am selling it because my life is starting to look a little different, and this van deserves to keep being used.
DO NOT JUST TAKE MY WORD FOR IT
I documented a lot of my time with the van, including walkthroughs, system explanations, repairs, how tos, ordinary travel days, and real life on the road.
Most of that content was posted long before I ever considered selling it, so it gives a pretty honest look at what the van is like.

If you are seriously considering it, I would encourage you to watch some of the videos. You will get a much better feel for the space, the systems, and how it has actually been used.
SEEING IT AND DELIVERY
I will be showing the van in California from the beginning of August through the end of September, then driving it back to Florida.
For West Coast buyers, that will be the easiest window to see it in person. If you are along my route back to Florida, or elsewhere in the continental US for the right buyer, I am open to discussing delivery after you have had a chance to review the van virtually and ask any questions.
Serious inquiries are welcome. I am happy to answer anything.
