Ever found yourself wondering what your van is really worth? You’re not alone. As the team behind Vanlife Trader — a platform that’s helped thousands of people buy and sell camper vans — we get asked that question all. the. time. So we built a tool to answer it.
Meet Vanlist, the first fair-market van valuation tool made just for camper vans. Think of it like the Kelley Blue Book — but for vans.
So, What Is Vanlist?
Vanlist is a data-backed pricing tool designed to give you an honest, fact-based estimate of your van’s resale value. It pulls real sales data from Vanlife Trader and compares your build against thousands of other rigs that have sold before.
The result? A clean, easy-to-read value range based on real-world comps — not guesswork.
How Does It Work?
It’s simple. Just plug in your van’s:
- Year, make, and model (we support Sprinter, Transit, and ProMaster to start)
- Mileage and condition
- Interior layout and upgrade features (solar, shower, kitchen setup, etc.)
The tool instantly analyzes similar vans that have sold on our site and gives you a low–mid–high estimate range based on actual sales data.
No haggling. No guesswork. No “my buddy said it’s worth…” energy.
It’s Not Just for Sellers
While Vanlist is a game-changer for sellers trying to price their rigs, it’s also super helpful for shoppers.
If you’re eyeing a van on Vanlife Trader and wondering if the price is fair, you can simply copy the listing link, drop it into Vanlist, and it’ll auto-fill the filters and give you a value estimate — instantly. No manual entry. Just clarity.
Why We Built It
We’ve seen the same issues play out again and again in this space:
- People overprice their vans and wonder why they’re taking longer to sell.
- People underprice and leave money on the table.
- Buyers feel unsure if they’re getting a fair deal.
We knew we could solve this with the right data — and we had it. After two years of development with a van-dwelling data scientist, Vanlist was born.
How Accurate Is It?
Like we said — this is real data, but it isn’t perfect.
Things like creativity, craftsmanship, and custom touches do matter — and some of those intangibles won’t always be captured in the filters. So we give you a value range and let you decide where your van fits within it.
We currently have the most robust data for Sprinters, Transits, and ProMasters — so for now, those are the only vans supported. More to come.
Have a dialed, one-of-a-kind build? Go for the high end. Just need it gone? Price your rig at the lower end.. Either way, the comps don’t lie.

Frequently Asked Questions about Vanlist
How do I know what my camper van is worth?
Great question — and it’s exactly why we built Vanlist. Our free valuation tool uses real sales data from Vanlife Trader to give you a fact-based estimate of your van’s resale value. Just plug in your specs, and we’ll show you a value range based on comparable rigs that have sold recently.
What impacts the resale value of a camper van?
A lot! The most important factors are your van’s make and model, mileage, condition, layout, and key upgrades like solar, water systems, and insulation. Vanlist uses all of those details to find real-world comps — so you’re pricing based on actual market data, not guesswork.
Can I get an official appraisal for loans, insurance, or legal use?
If you need a detailed, formal van appraisal, we’ve partnered with a certified expert. Visit campervanappraisals.com to request a report from Stacie, a van-lifer and accredited appraiser. Her reports are accepted by banks, insurance providers, and even in court.
