A master welder & cabinetmaker in Hood River, Oregon built this rig as a passion project—hand‑fabricating the rock‑solid roof rack and ladder and finishing the interior in Baltic‑birch and maple. He built this to be a true adventure van – everything in here is bomber and tasteful utilitarian without any of the typical rattle traps you find in the more common commercial builds.
If you’ve never driven the Transit with the Ecoboost 3.5L twin turbo V-6 with the 10 speed transmission, it’s a beast. Flies up mountain passes like a Sprinter could only dream about. Much easier to get work done wherever you might need it (any Ford dealer or indy shop) than a Mercedes, and lower service costs as well. And…no damned DEF to deal with!
I purchased it in early 2024, logged a handful of trips, then took a new job that keeps me home. It’s in immaculate condition, has just had a top to bottom, interior/exterior professional ($1,000) detail, carries roughly 12 months of Ford factory warranty remaining, and runs AMSOIL synthetic oil.
