Built in the back of a retired 2006 Ford U-Haul box truck, this 87-square-foot conversion can easily fit up to three people for full-time van life. There is a huge U-shaped couch that comfortably seats 6+ people and converts to a queen bed. There is also a separate twin bed. The interior kitchen has 2 burners, an oven, a huge sink, and plenty of counter space to cook with. There is ample storage in cabinets all around the van as well as space under the couch. The electrical system has 300 Ah of 12V Battle Born Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries and a 2000w pure sine wave inverter. 600w of solar panels on the roof will keep you topped up on power even through constant use. The previous owners have used the truck to work remotely for 10+ hours per day and have never had an issue with electricity. The electrical system is built with top of the line Victron components.Previous owners bought the truck directly from U-Haul in the summer of 2020. The truck runs perfectly, is turnkey, and has not had any mechanical issues in the time I or the previous owners have owned it.The previous owners documented the process of building the truck (@ProjectToday).
Reason for selling: Unfortunately, I am not able to spend enough time living in it to justify continuing to own it as I travel very often. It’s currently parked in New York City (sometimes New Jersey) and has surpassed expectations in every way. It is extremely comfortable and spacious. Whether you would like to travel or pay ZERO DOLLARS in rent, this is a gem of a home/vehicle. I’m in no rush to sell, but probably better to part ways with it sooner than later.Vehicle Info– 2006 Ford E450 Box Truck– 143,000 miles– 6.8L V-10 gas engine (305 HP 420.0 ft.lbs. @ 3,250 rpm)– This engine is expected to last for 300,000 miles and some have been known to go up to 500,000.
