Buying A Van

Rossmönster brings sleek luxury to off road rigs

leah

We’ve been fans of Rossmönster for a while now but when we got to tour their Baja Truck Camper at AVE Evergreen, we were hooked. The designs are clean and clever and the rigs are truly off road capable. We spent a week camping in the foothills of Colorado in their Sprinter van and the Baja Truck Camper. We drove them up and down the mountains to see what they could do and gave their layouts a good livin’ in. Turns out, they’re even better after you spend a week with them.

They back up the “luxury” claim

Every detail in these rigs is thoughtful and practical. While everything is customizable, the spec models are impressive. The countertops are sleek and easy to clean, the lighting is creative, and the upholstery is actually dog friendly.

Just drive the Baja Truck Camper!

I’m short! Like real short! I like driving Sprinters cause they make me feel tall (especially the Rossmönster show rig with it’s $12k suspension system). I typically don’t like driving big trucks cause I feel like I can’t see over the hood. But the guys at Rossmönster convinced me to give the Baja truck a shot, and boy was it a real good time. The airbag system makes moving from highway driving to mountain roads a breeze and something about it made me want to listen to my fellow Texas girl, Tanya Tucker, sing “When I die, just let me go to Texas”.

It’s not everyday you see such beautiful campers that can actually hold up while off roading. We slung mud, crossed creeks, flew over rocks and these rigs didn’t struggle once. Rossmönster has it figured out.

Off road to off grid

So you get the rig up the mountain and then what? With Rossmönster, you can stay up there… for at least a full week. We ran the A/C, the heater, the water heater, the lights, I mean we ran all of it, and never ran out of power. We took showers and washed dishes and didn’t run out of water. Their systems are made for being off-grid.

Rent before you buy

They build crazy custom rigs and they offer rentals out of their home base in Longmont, Colorado!

We’ve rented vans before and you go in expecting pretty basic items, but the crew at Rossmönster stocks their rigs with tasteful and high quality utensils and cookware. So not only are you getting to camp in a sick van or truck (or both!), you’ll feel like you rented yourself a real nice hotel.

If you’re camping with the fam I recommend the Baja truck camper rental. It was great having a lot of space in the cab for travel days and then once the camper is popped up it’s really roomy.

The van killed the mountain roads and is a great option if you’re looking to try out vanlife.

Rossmönster, thanks for showing us a good time!
