GO! What is stopping you? My wife and I have had three wonderful years of travel in this van! The only reason we are selling is because we keep going on longer and longer trips and we want to trade for a 170 wheelbase! We never thought we would be spending 6 weeks at a time just wandering. Want to open the door after taking a break from work and be staring at Mt Rainer? I have had my office in the Paradise Parking lot quite a few times since owning this van!
I have a complete list of all the features available on request but to get your attention I will summarize. It has upgraded suspension (Agile and Van Compass combination), customized roof rack with lots of carrying capacity and solar, light bar (which is amazing when you arrive in a remote place after dark), side and rear ladders, upgraded wheels and tires and mounting frame for an owl vans box or bike carrier (Ski locker in picture is not included as we will keep that!).
The interior is unique in that it is all high-quality aluminum with sound dampening. The ride is very quiet and the interior materials are lighter than wood used in most conversions. The empty converted van is under 6800lbs which leaves a lot of room for your gear and makes it more fuel efficient. In the summer, my wife and I can run our laptops and monitors and the ceiling fan all day, boil water for coffee and still go 2 days off grid before needing to either drive or plug in to charge back up. An external Starlink port keeps us on-line all day! On the weekends we never worry about power running out as we are usually out hiking or mountain biking and not pulling much power during the day. We invested in an Ecoflow portable AC unit with a 10-hour battery in case it gets a little warm (included).
The build was not designed as a challenge to see how much of your living room can be crammed into a 144 wheelbase. It was designed to carry us and as much of our gear as we might want (bikes, skis, boats, etc.) to wherever we wanted to go and then let us make dinner and sleep well. This design worked for us but with the mounting tracks installed all over the van you can easily modify it as you might want.
I came up with a listing value by taking the price of the base van with no conversion on Kelly blue book with 44K miles and then adding up the retail of all the exterior add-ons. I took 50% of the add on retail since they have 40K miles on them and I get to $59,000. I should mention that the van comes with a maintenance contract for service at any Mercedes dealer that has half of its life left. That means no service charges for at least 3 of the scheduled maintenance intervals. The fully converted interior with kitchen, water pump, induction cooktop, insulated walls, wiring and robust electrical systems would cost $30K in materials (at least) so that is how I get to $89K for the listing price.
Happy to answer any questions you might have! A note for the very observant: The picture I used for the lead shows a wrap that was once on the hood but has been removed. The picture is not staged, it is an action shot from one of our adventures and best captures the sprit of this van. The stickers on the back tell our story. I’ll remove them if you want so you have room to tell yours!
