Introducing Arthur VanGo – 2022 Promaster 2500 High Top Custom Build by adVANture Co in 2022.
I got into van life as a travel ICU nurse looking to get on the roads and explore after working through Covid. Looking to settle down now and want to pass along this wonderful van who’s been my adventure companion for the past 4 years. I’ve landed in my dream job and do not give Arthur the adventures he’s build for, and I’m looking to pass him along to his next adventure buddy.
We built the interior to be a log cabin on wheels with a stealth camper exterior. I was looking for a van that I could travel around and explore the country between travel contracts and on my days off, but when I was working at the hospital, when I got off work and got into my van, I was able to feel like I was back out in nature even if I was parked in a parking lot. Whether you’re parked on some BLM land or in a rest stop, the interior design was meant to keep you connected to nature during the hustle and bustle of life, while easily blends in with other cars when in urban environment. So camping trips into cities are just as manageable as getting out into National Forest areas.
I intentionally went with the Promaster 2500 for comfort and maneuverability (it drives just like a truck so you don’t need a big parking spot) yet capable on dirt roads for camping adventures. The MPG is the only down side of the build, but the 22gal gas tank gives you 350+ miles per refill. FWD makes it very manageable in slick road conditions and capable getting down dry dirt roads like The Golden Road in Northern Maine. It’s no 4×4, but with good tires and sound judgement, you can get anywhere you want. Snow-tires in the winters got me to all the ski resorts I wanted, and thankfully if you get snowed in with no where to go…if only you had a nice warm cozy cabin parked in the parking lot with nowhere to go…

This is where the 30gal water tank is as well as 2 100amp hr lithium ion batteries, charged of shore power, 300wt solar panels, or the engine inverter. I’ve had 2 pairs of skies, camping and hiking gear, a mountain bike all stored there with room to spare. There is a door to access it from inside the van.
-The butcher block counter tops blended with the rock splash guard by the sink keeps the earth vibes together inside the van.

-Drivers side cabinet – Top is a storage shelf on top of Mini-fridge refrigerator on the drivers side before the bed build. No bending down for a chest fridge. Middle is a drawer for storage with a false bottom so you can keep some things out of sight for security. Bottom drawer is the storage for the Porta-Potti toilet which is mobile and can be placed anywhere at your campsite or kept In side.

Interior To-Do List:
Planned to upgrade the Maxair vent in the ceiling this year and would recommend anyone to do that. I prefer airflow through open doors and rechargeable fans inside so I haven’t used that ceiling fan much. There’s enough space to add a third 100amp battery and could be upgraded to an AC unit if someone wanted to that.
