Selling our 2014 159 ext Dodge Promaster 3500 due to our family growing and it no longer fits our needs. This van has taken us all over the country to see so many amazing things and now it is time for it to take you everywhere you want to go. This van is perfect for anyone from a single adventurer to a small family. We traveled for 5 months with our newborn baby and 70 lb lab with no issues. This van has tons of storage to hold every thing you need for a long trip across the country. It has been well maintained and taken in regularly for service.
Recent maintenance includes: all 4 season tires less than 15k miles, heavy duty oversized brakes less than 5k miles, new starter and alternator around 5k miles, def pump less than 2k miles, brand new tire sensors, newer water pump.
Van features are as follows: 50 gallon water tank, diesel heater connected to fuel line, front and rear maxxair fans, full standing separate shower, running water at sink in kitchen, brand new cassette toilet, single induction top, 300 watts of solar, 300 mAH amp hours for batteries, 3000 watt DC inverter for electrical, 1 fridge in the van up front 1 fridge in garage of van (size of a large cooler- freezer/fridge combo) on a slider and also removable, backup camera / interior camera for back bench, 2 swivel Captains chairs, foldable bench seat, Insulated window covering and divider between cabin and living, bug net for side door and back door, full size bed – foam mattress topper, all kitchen/ cooking utensils, lots of storage cabinets, dimmable interior lighting, fairy lights in bedroom, upgraded speakers with subwoofer, electrical system is capable of running off grid air conditioner.
The check engine light is currently on in the van and it has been looked at by 2 different mechanics to verify the issue. The glowplugs need to be serviced but both mechanics stated that they would not recommend replacing the plugs due to possibly being seized in the engine head. This issue does not affect the drivability of the van at all and I was told that not replacing them will not cause any additional or further mechanical issues. There is also a crack in the windshield on the passenger side from a rock that hit it during our travels.
The A/C compressor just went out in the van, I took it to a diesel mechanic who quoted $4300 to replace everything with the AC system. However, he said that the parts are currently on national backorder with the dealership and they are not sure when they could do the the repair. The price of the vehicle has reflects the costs of these repairs.
