This van was purchased brand new as a custom build originally designed for a business as a mobile spa offering microblading (semi permanent make-up) services. It was the first of it’s kind being thoroughly and rigorously inspected having to pass multiple inspections by the State of California Health Department as well as the Division of Codes and Standards to certify that this van complies with all health and safety codes required in order to run this business. A certification stamp was installed with the van that transfers with each new owner. A picture of that stamp is among the photos. They are very difficult to get (being an incredibly time consuming and costly process) and at the time, this mobile business concept was the first of this kind. The entire process of building out the van and passing all inspections took over 2.5 years. Upon completion, the Covid pandemic hit and the business was never realized. Once the pandemic had ended, we had shifted our focus on other businesses. The van has incredibly low mileage for a 2017 being driven on occasion to keep it running normally but has mostly sat in our driveway.
The floor, walls, cabinetry were all custom designed and installed using quality materials such as solid wood cabinetry with auto closing doors and drawers. Both walls have lots of drawers and cabinets with plenty of storage. Additional ceiling lighting was installed as well as additional standard power outlets. A high quality stainless sink and faucet was installed with a 30 gal fresh and a 30 gal grey water tank below connected to a Bosch 1440 W 4 gal water heater and a 15 AMP 3.0 GPM Flow Max water pump to provide hot and cold water with very good water pressure.
A large capacity Kuppet refrigerator/freezer was installed between the driver and passenger seats and can be used as one or the other based on your temperature settings.
All modifications including pumps, heaters, lights, and refrigerators are powered when the engine is running, but requires a plug in power source when it’s not running to keep from draining the car battery. An external outlet was installed to which a large power cord (provided) can be connected to the outlet and either plugged into a standard power outlet or a standard extension cord if your outlet is further away from the van. A water inlet and drain has also been installed externally. A common garden hose will connect to the inlet to fill the clean water tanks below the sink. The grey water tank can be evacuated and emptied by opening the t-valve installed under the van on the driver’s side.
A custom high quality metal cab divider with metal door and latch was installed to divide the cab from the rear area as a health code requirement to pass inspection, but is a nice additional feature that allows for more privacy when occupying the back of the van. The door can be latched from the back or left open.
This van was recently given a full inspection top to bottom with oil change, filters, plugs, and fluid levels checked as well as a brand new high crank battery installed.
Because of the strict health code inspections and Insignia stamp that was given to the van it would be a “turn key” business for someone looking to start a mobile spa/microblading business as well as a mobile tattoo business. It would also be a very easy conversion as a weekend camper or as a mobile living space for the modern day “digital nomads” working from anywhere in the world.
