Ford TC: Surfer’s Strike Vehicle, Daily Driver, and Camper

Want to be adventure ready, and still park in a standard garage? Only want to own one vehicle? This van can handle it all! Daily driver with great gas mileage, yet ever-ready for a long weekend away.

The base vehicle is a former fleet van I purchase with 30,000 miles on it. A fully loaded Transit Connect XLT passenger van including CD player and radio with premium sound, Ford SYNC (for Carplay), USB charging and Auxiliary ports, back-up camera, navigation system, rare alloy wheels, keyless entry, front and back heat and A/C, power windows, cruise control, power seat, towing package, daytime running and fog lights, power steering, antilock brakes, reverse sensing system, and stability control.

Contravans of Denver Colorado installed 3M insulation and sound deadening throughout, electrical system with Solar, slated ceiling panels with dimmable LEDs. 120V waterproof shore power outlet, and MaxAir 4500k Roof Vent with rain sensor.

I personally added cabinets and storage locker, bed, storage shelf over cab, window coverings all around, pull out galley, custom redwood rooftop deck/toy hauling rack and access ladder. USB and 12V power outlets, rear door storage/paneling, and vinyl flooring. I also added a keyless entry pad so you can leave your keys in the vehicle while enjoying the water or outdoors.

The galley includes:

• Dometic CoolMatic CD-30 drawer fridge (1 cubic foot capacity);
• Dometic propane two-burner cooktop with glass lid;
• Counter space;
• storage for pots/pans/dishes, etc.

This van is perfect for a small family! It can seat four with seat belts and airbags for all.

Sleeping arrangements are flexible. My sons would sleep on the bed inside the van and I would sleep on the roof deck in good weather, or a tent when needed. Or we would tow a teardrop trailer to comfortably sleep four inside.

When flying solo this rig makes an awesome stealth vehicle for surgical surf strikes. Simply park at the beach, sleep comfortably, and be on the break early before anyone else!

The all-purpose rooftop deck/rack easily carries a full size canoe and surfboards.

All this AND this van is a great daily driver!
