New Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 144” WB, high roof, AWD. Framed with extruded aluminum, making for an ultra light and super strong build. The framing is bolted to the chassis and will withstand anything. All of the bolts are nylock, and we use locktite on every bolt. Unlike a plywood build, aluminum frames will not fall apart, warp, and the facing (usually ultra light plywood with a laminate) can be replaced with ease, allowing for a brand new build look down the road.
Our electrical system is a Victron system. There are 50 amps of dc-dc charging, 200 watts of solar running through a 30 amp charge controller, and shore power charging through a Multiplus ii. Everything is appropriately fused in the Lynx power distributor. The Lynx Smart BMS 500 and the Cerbo monitor make monitoring the system easy. There is also a battery protect, keeping your batteries safe. If additional amp hours are needed, the system can expand to 1,000 ah, however we have found 400 to be enough.
Prioritizing quality craftsmanship over quantity is our goal. Thus, we have implemented fine woodworking into the build. Please notice the beautiful flow of grains as they waterfall over the counter and down the wall. The overhead cabinet above the bench seat is made from walnut, and the angles are cut as to allow you to sit and stand without worrying about hitting your head. The orange high pressure laminate adds a fun brightness to the built that blends beautifully with the walnut.
All of our drawers are joined with half blind dovetails. This joint is very attractive and strong, it will not fail as pocket screws and glue joints will after years of use. Our goal is to build a camper that will outlast the van. Because of the aluminum framing, you could literally move this build into a new van without destroying anything!
There is off grid AC and off grid heating. Two awning windows and one slider window, paired with a roof fan, offer great ventilation. The van is insulated with 3M Thinsulate, alongside a 1/8th inch acoustic foam. The flares are insulated with a 1/4” foam. The floor has R6 board insulation. The upholstery is a tan tweed that easily hides dirt and adds warmth to the build.
The plumbing is all PEX. There is a 36 gallon fresh water tank, and a 6 gallon grey tank. There is a Bosh electric water heater with an outside shower attachment.
The fridge is an Isotherm Cruise. It runs off of AC and DC power. It will automatically switch over to AC when it is available.
There is a built in box with a 500 lbs slider that can house a toilet. We leave the selection up to you and will wire accordingly.
When it comes to the van itself, there are 360 degree cameras, adaptive cruise control, two swivel seats, heated seats, and a comfort package. The monitor is huge.
