2020 Ford Transit 2WD

This tiny home on wheels is a real gem.

I bought it from a van builder in Beaverton, Oregon (Vantasy Northwest). He built it for his 80-year-old grandfather. He has been building out vans with custom wood interiors since 2014 He recently did a bumper-to-bumper checkup and fixed several insignificant things for me. He has offered to do a 1:1 consultation with whomever buys it.

I bought it two years ago, hoping that my husband and I would travel in it but, it has been a challenge since he has both physical and mental deficits.

This rig is absolutely amazing. It has been well loved and maintained by the Ford Dealership with all routine maintenance, so it is in premiere condition. It has only 22,000 miles on it and gets 16-18 mpg. It has the 3.5l EcoBoost engine. It has an aftermarket GPS Navigation system integrated into the Ford infotainment which means that if you lose cell phone coverage, you can still navigate and not rely on your phone to get you there.

It has no propane (a bonus for me) and is all electric. It has 2 big lithium batteries (Expion 368ah) in the back which are charged by driving the vehicle @ 50amps but, it can hold its own ‘off grid’ without driving for up to 10 days (yes, we have done this). Using it as your everyday car makes sense and it is legal to park anywhere.

In the kitchen, It has a refrigerator (Isotherm AC/DC) and appliances including a hot plate, a tea kettle and a pod coffee maker. The sink is 9 inches deep with a 25-gallon water tank for fresh water but no grey water holding tank. The grey water either runs out on to the ground (minus pee of course) or into a 5-gallon bucket that you place in the correct location under the van when parked.

The toilet is a composting style called Nature’s Head which takes Coconut Coir and is seamless and easy to use and dump the waste.

It has solar panels (2) Zamp 100watt panels on top which provides up to 15amps 0f charge and an electric awning (Dometic 10ft). There is open space on the roof for at least 4 more panels and the Victron 100/30 MPPT charge controller can handle this addition. The panels and the awning are supported by the Flatline Van Co low profile roof rack w/ wind faring. The side door has a custom platform extension attached to the AMP research automatic running board- activated by opening and closing the door.

It has an inverter/ converter (Victron multiplus 3000) and several 110v plugs in the rig. It also has Rixen’s Hydronic heating system (RCS6) that can be easily converted to make hot water in addition to heat.

I have loved this vehicle as you can see from all of the personal touches. There is ample room for storage and plenty of overhead cabinets for daily use.

The primary bed is 75″ X 48″ (in between XL and full) and the extra tri-fold bed behind the seats is 69.5″ X25″. Extras including; dishes, towels, linens, etc. to make your ‘off grid freedom’ feel like home. Must see to appreciate. I have included lots of photos and will be adding some as time goes on.

Bonus: I’ve had it appraised (120K) in May of 24 and licensed as an RV so, if you can’t pay cash or choose not to, you might consider financing it.
