Punchy, powerful engine. Hills are a breeze. The original owner-builder (a Boeing engineer from Seattle) designed the interior with ample storage and all the systems one would ever want, including a brilliant integrated L-track system that allows for customized storage and fastening. Between the large capacity fridge, deep shelving, and epic countertop, this setup allows for some really delicious meals to be cooked on the road. Our family preferred the portability of a compact composting toilet and the practicality of the open-air shower out back. Every square foot has felt really efficient, super practical, and spacious.

We have owned it less than a year, but this has been one of the most fun rigs we’ve had and it has enabled a lot of adventure. We’re now focused on building out our farm, so the van is ready for its next owner.

Some of the technical details and features:

2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 Crew, RWD that came off the MB lot with all the bells and whistles options Mercedes had available. 50,000 miles. The first year of the newest third-generation VS30 Sprinter, this 144-wheelbase van gives you the space for all the necessary camper van amenities while driving comfortably around town sporting the V6 Turbo Diesel engine. Options include the tow package, heated seats, 360-degree cameras and accident protection systems, adaptive cruise control, and the Mercedes MBUX multimedia system that is Apple Carplay/Android Auto capable. The body is in excellent condition, with a but a handful of minor scuffs or light dings commensurate to the mileage.

The front driver and passenger captain seats swivel while the backseat has a factory leather bench seat with three seatbelts so the whole family can be safe and road-legal. The onboard systems are undergirded by a GoalZero Yeti 1400 with Yeti’s Link Car Charger kit and 200 watts of roof-mounted solar panels. This powers an ARB Zero fridge/freezer 47 qt. w/floor slide out that can store enough food for a few days, a 25-gallon fresh water tank system for a stainless steel sink plumbed to drain to a 5-gallon grey water tank or directly underneath the van, a 5-gallon Bosch electric water heater that is plumbed to a rear faucet/showerhead, and additional lighting. A composting toilet will come with the rig.

The cabin is outfitted with plenty of storage. Aluminum shelving, stainless steel backsplash for easy cleaning, as a kitchenette space featuring a large John Boos maple butcher block countertop and drawers. Keep the temperature just right with a MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent with a 12V Fan or Espar heater that sips on diesel and keeps things toasty via Thermostat and Remote. A Thule Omnistor awning provides plenty of shade in the sun and coverage from the rain.

The front bed is a Full/Short Queen on a simple manual crank bed lift system that lowers down over the seats and the rear bed is an aluminum plank bed that only takes a couple of minutes to set up. If you have a fifth sleeper, there is a perfect spot underneath the rear bed for a cot or sleeping bag. Beautiful maple ply and hardwood maple paneling makes the interior feel warm and comfortable.

New tires with less than 10 miles on them.

Latter photos shows the cabin in “sleep mode” with lowered bed system and assembled bed rails. We used two natural latex mattresses that made it super comfortable and essentially. turned the entire cabin into one large bed.
