Say Hello to Luna: Your Next Adventure is Waiting!

We are so excited for the next chapter of our lives, but that means it’s time to pass on our beloved camper van, Luna, to her new owners! We bought her new back in August 2019 as an empty Ford Transit 350 Cargo van with 3.5L EcoBoost (148” wheelbase, medium height roof). I was retiring soon, and my wife and I were ready to hit the road and explore more of North America. We finally had the time we’d been dreaming of!

By December of that year, we worked with the amazing team at Off Grid Adventure Vans (OGA) in Frederick, MD, to give her a custom build-out. We designed Luna to be a true four-season home on wheels for two people.

Built for Adventure, Ready for Anything

Luna is packed with top-notch features for comfortable, off-grid living:

Powerhouse Setup: She has a 345-watt solar array, 300 AMP hours of Battle Born Lithium batteries, a Xantrex 2000-watt inverter, a Victron Energy SamrtSolar charge controller (MPPT100 | 30) and an A/D converter. There is also the option to use shore power. There are multiple 110W and USB outlets throughout the van. You won’t be looking for outlets!
Climate Control: Stay warm with a gas-fed, altitude-adjusted Webasto (Air Top Evo 40, 12V) heater. Plus, front and rear MaxxAir fans, and a Caframo Sirocco II adjustable fan to keep the air flowing.
Kitchen & Facilities:
We aren’t fans of propane, so we used a simple single-burner induction cook-top (portable and stays with the van).
The kitchen area has both hot and cold running water with a 26-gallon freshwater tank and an outdoor shower.
Keep your food fresh with an 80-liter Dometic refrigerator.
There’s also a Nature’s Head composting toilet.

The Living Space: We chose a convertible table/bed design. This seats 4 adults with a Lagun-mounted table. When it’s time to sleep, the bed is just short of queen size.

Between mid-2020 and mid-2024, Luna was our full-time home for a number of extended trips, each lasting between two and four months! To make those adventures perfect, we added some great upgrades:

Storage: Two Aluminess storage boxes mounted on the back.
Convenience: Running boards on both sides, window tinting all around, and “Bug Wall” screens on both the sliding door and rear door.
Driver Comfort: An upgraded radio with a larger dash screen for Apple Play and Sirius Radio, a brush/bumper guard for the front bumper, tow-hitch/wiring, and a dash cam.
Protection: Full vehicle ceramic coating.

Luna has been a dream and still can be for the next owner. She has been Ford dealership maintained and on schedule, is in great shape, and is truly ready for her next owners to continue the traveling life.

Our Reason for Selling

We are sad to see her go, but unfortunately, recent health problems have limited my mobility, making it difficult for us to enjoy her the way we used to. We’re also including a large amount of essential equipment (listed elsewhere) we used on our travels —she’s ready to go when you are!
