I'm selling my beloved 2015 Promaster 2500 159 Diesel that I had built out in 2023. It has about 84,500 miles on it, so for a diesel lots of life left. The ceiling is 6ft inside with the build. I have loved this van and lived, worked, and meditated lots in it -- it is well loved and well tested. I'm only selling it because I'm transitioning into an even simpler life.
I bought this with build start (had insulation, cabinets) but had the key parts of this van built out by vanbuild professionals. All of the important stuff (wiring, propane, systems, heater, etc.) were put in by the experts. It’s designed for a single person to maximize space for solo travel and full time remote work.
It’s got solar on top and also pulls from the alternator, it’s got a big life pro battery (and after a few days living in it I would only drop like to 80 or 75% in cloudy weather or trees), it’s got a shore power plug, and also an inverter. It has a Maxxair fan, a Lavaner diesel heater, and a Separett (brand) composting toilet with a fan that runs always. The fridge is an Ecoflow Glacier. It has propane (safely set up) and a stove top with two burners. The water is self contained and has a pump. I didn’t add a water heater and there’s no shower setup.
There’s a swivel passenger seat. The bed space is the bench, it’s a single (no magic pull out scenario). There’s a fold down desk that’s really nice.
It’s finished for living but lacks some fancier finishing touches that I was going to do over time. Things like covering up metal, getting panels, trim, etc. Easy chance for personal touches.
On the van, it’s actually really easy to drive for the size in my experience. It is a bit unique as an “automatic manual”, essentially an automatic that shifts itself and feels a bit like a manual because the transmission is still manual. Takes a bit to get used to is all. For example, there’s no “park” (you use the parking brake). I actually like the manual option it has to make my own shifting decisions (plus, it’s forgetful-person-proof and shifts for you if you don’t). The diesel means it'll last long and it gets great fuel economy.
