GREAT FAMILY VAN. We built this van to drive cross country with our kids and thats exactly what we did, multiple times.
Before getting into a van you need to understand no matter what van things break. This is basically a house on wheels and things can go wrong. You need to be open and willing to work on it when needed. This is true even on the 200K ones that roll off the assembly line. we have meet a lot of van lifers along the way and someone is lying to you if they say this doesn’t happen. we built this van with exactly that in mind and ensured all areas os the van are easily accessible and I always travel with spare parts. its rare for me that it happened but its always good to be prepared.
the van has close 10-15K in parts on it. if used properly you can go off grid for 1 week without any hook ups.
things to keep in mind. this was a cargo van so the back seats we added are great but there is no hvac back there. we would use usb fans clipped to the windows if it got hot but it never was too much of an issue. The rear AC is great but it pulls a lot of power so it can only be used if you’re hooked up to shore power.
this van is great for both short and long excursions. mechanically the van runs great. if interested and want more details or pics please let me know
