2002 Chevrolet Express 2WD

Hello! We are Luna Designs Ltd. Co., located in the beautiful North East Kingdom of Vermont. We are a husband and wife team that has been building quality, off grid creations for over 15 years!

Up for sale today we have a 2002 Chevy Express van with (no this is not a typo) only 35,500 miles! This is a reliable, low maintenance van that's cheap to maintain and easy to service. Here's the story: I bought the van from my brother who runs a river livery business in western Massachusetts. For the last 15 or so years this van was used to transport kayakers and tubers to the starting point of the Deerfield River white water section. So the van was only used in the Summer months and for only a couple thousand miles a season.

After acquiring the van I decided to outfit it with a simple build and aim for a more approachable price point than the vans we’ve sold in the past. We think this van can do everything you need without breaking the bank.

THE BUILD:

Passenger seat swivel

Queen size memory foam mattress

12 volt roof vent

One piece galley (kitchen) cabinet with 7 gallon freshwater tank plumbed to a 12 volt water pump that drains into a 7 gallon grey water tank.

The galley is removable to allow the use of the van bench seat. So the van can operate as a people mover on the weekdays and a camper on the weekends! To remove the galley all you need to do is remove 2 bolts on one side of the cabinet and one quick release pin on the other side, unplug the 12 volt supply from the outlet on the cabinet and slide it out. It can be done in 5 minutes and requires no tools!

Electrical system:

150 watt roof mounted solar panel

30 amp charge controller

100 amp/hr Renogy sealed AGM battery

1,000 watt Renogy pure sine wave inverter w/remote wired for easy access

110v outlet wired to inverter

USB-c ports wired to both sides of the bed and one in the galley cabinet

30 liter 12 volt compressor refrigerator, the fridge lives between the seats currently but can be moved anywhere in the cabin and is not permanently mounted.

The exterior has been painted with Rino Liner truck bed liner.
