1989 GMC Vandura Camper Van | Solar | EcoFlow Wave 3 A/C

Selling my 1989 GMC Vandura camper van. It’s been a fun project and a great camping van, but I’ve decided to move on to something different.

The van starts right up, runs strong, and has been dependable. It has a new steering column and new brake lines, and the odometer shows about 45,000 miles (true mileage unknown because of the age).

Inside, the original rear bench folds into a bed. I have it set up with a queen-size memory foam mattress topper and a waterproof tie-dye mattress cover, which makes it really comfortable to sleep on. I also removed the middle captain’s chairs to open up the space, but they’ll come with the van if you want to put them back in.

One of the biggest upgrades is the power setup. It has a 400-watt solar panel mounted on the roof that keeps the included EcoFlow Delta Plus (1,000Wh) charged, along with an EcoFlow Wave 3 portable A/C that’s already vented through the side window. It’s a simple setup that lets you camp comfortably without having to build an electrical system yourself.

It’s not a perfect van, and I’m not going to pretend it is. It’s spent its life in the Northeast, so it has the typical cosmetic rust you’d expect for its age. There’s also a dent in one of the rear doors, and one rear door hinge is missing, but both doors still close and latch just fine. Overall, it’s a solid old van that’s ready to enjoy while leaving plenty of room for the next owner to make it their own.

I’d love to see it go to someone who’s excited about classic vans and will keep using it instead of letting it sit. I really think it deserves to end up somewhere warmer where it can escape the road salt and keep going for years to come.
