1987 Volkswagen Vanagon 4×4

A fully built out camper that can go anywhere you want to go. This Vanagon Syncro 4×4 T3 has front and rear lock, a two inch lift, snow rated A/T tires (installed in April), upgraded front and rear GoWesty disc brakes, upgraded suspension, and a 2011 Subaru Outback engine with upgraded transmission. The van also has front and rear steel bumpers, a rear swing-away spare tire system, a roof rack, awning, and exterior solar panel connector so you can plug in your panels wherever you are.

The pop top gives ample head room, ventilation, and natural light. Upper bunk was removed to create a large “attic” storage space. Cook delicious meals on your built-in two burner camp stove with 3 lb propane tank (a full tank lasted me 5 months of full time living). A 13 gallon water tank will keep you off grid for a week or two. Two 50 Ah Battle Born LiFePo batteries are charged via solar, the alternator, or shore power. The built-in electronics system uses Victron components and a Renogy 750 W inverter with plenty of 120 V and USB hookups easily accessible in the cabin. There are full RV hookups for shore power and water as well.

This van comes with the original built-ins which provide ample storage and can be configured for cooking, working, or sleeping within seconds. The roof rack gives you the option to add a roof bin for more storage if desired.

A propane heater can easily be installed under the bench seat and connected to the attached propane tank if desired. The van also comes with built-in bluetooth stereo and surround sound.

I lived and worked full time in this van and am selling it to go back to school. It’s taken me over some very rough terrain and handles like a champ. I’ve taken it as far south as Ensenada, MX and as far east as Boulder, CO over the continental divide in all sorts of weather.

These vans are built in a way that it’s easy to access just about every part you need to maintain. You can change the oil without lifting it since it’s already so far off the ground. Lots of room in the engine bay to maneuver. I have full maintenance records from the previous owner and from myself.

Note: The van needs new rod bearings in the next 5000 miles. The price is adjusted to reflect that.
