Raft Tiger Vans was born from the dream of living life on the road—one fueled by adventure and the rugged beauty of Colorado. In 2015, Nate left behind a career in electrical engineering, sold everything, and set off on a new journey. That journey? A retro Astro van.

What followed were years filled with adrenaline and exploration—cycling mountain trails, rafting fierce whitewater, carving up the black diamonds, and always chasing the next horizon. From the craggy peaks of Colorado to the misty Cascades of the PNW, and even a stent in the Caribbean, Nate’s journey was anything but ordinary.

By 2019, after countless miles and memories, we found our home base in the vibrant Appalachian hub of Asheville, NC. Here, Raft Tiger Vans was born. Coupling actual experience living life on the road and professional engineering experience, we personally know the everyday complexities of van life and have created a design that solves complexity with simplicity.
