Sprinter 170 High Roof Home on Wheels

Custom design & build by an engineer to be efficient and lightweight, our amazing van has taken us on journeys crisscrossing the country. The initial build was completed in 2020 and refined and upgraded ever since. We have loved every minute of adventure in our cozy and comfortable home on wheels and are parting with her only to build out a 144 with off-road capabilities.

Our Freightliner Sprinter is a Mercedes-Benz with a Freightliner Badge. It has the same 2.1 liter 4 cylinder twin turbo diesel engine (OM651).

The build is packed with everything a couple needs:

1. King size memory foam bed, fixed platform on breathable and comfortable wood slats. Large overhead cabinets and bedside gooseneck white/red LED lights for evening reading and cell phone charging.
2. Separate dining area with Lagun table mount converts to a lounge seat or third (horizontal) bed if needed. A swivel on the front passenger seat provides an additional seating option.
3. Two large side windows, one has a sliding window built-in, plus handmade double sided window covers for side and windshield windows; additional blackout curtain separates cab for privacy.
4. Lithium batteries are charged by alternator (B to B), solar, or shore power, mostly Victron, some Renogy.
5. Fully usable kitchen with refrigerator, portable induction burner, deep sink, and ample storage and counter space.
6. Air Head Composting toilet hidden in bench.
7. Two showers and Bosch hot water heater. An outside shower makes cooling off, rinsing muddy shoes and cleaning bicycles easy, while a convertible interior shower drains directly into the grey water tank.
8. Ample water for a week or more with an internal 25 gallon fresh water tank, easily filled from rear of the van. Two exterior connected grey water tanks provide 12 gallons of grey water with gauges and remote dump to make emptying easy.
9. A pair of Maxx Air fans plus custom screens for back doors and slider keep the van cool. An Eberspacher (Espar) diesel heater with Easy Start Pro controller keeps it toasty in cold weather.
10. Wolfbox rear view camera and upgraded Alpine head unit with infinity speakers in front and two removable speakers in the rear with enough speaker wire to take them outside for music at your campground.
11. Standard outlets convenient for kitchen appliances and electronics. USB outlets in several places, including by the bed.
12. A WeBoost cell phone signal makes even the faintest 4G/5G signal usable.
13. Overhead dimmable LED lighting.
14. Bed fixed over large garage with LED light can be accessed from the front or rear of the van and is tall enough to fit bicycles. The bed frame is sturdy and light 80/20 extruded aluminum.
15. Little hacks make life better: the radio plays off the house battery, not the chassis battery; flip a switch and the hot water heater heats when driving (or flip it to position II and it heats whenever); SAE 12v outlets in the rear allow quick connection for the compressor (included), a second fridge, or whatever else needs power (and a second SAE outlet wired to the chassis battery allows for a quick jump from the house batteries in an emergency); and lots more.

We have original manuals, a spreadsheet detailing every purchase for the van, and service records. We have done regular oil changes B service ourselves.

We will help teach you how to operate all of the systems. We hope the next owner will love her as much as we do.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Disclosures: Small dent in driver’s side top (parallel parked into a tree branch); small nick in windshield.
