About
Adventurebumss Van Conversions — Built in California
Adventurebumss is a small, hands-on shop in Auburn, California, in the Sierra foothills. We build custom off-grid camper vans on Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit, and Ram Promaster platforms. We don’t run a production line. Every van is designed around how its owner travels, and our own crew builds it from the frame out.
Where we come from. We started Adventurebumss after nine months living full-time in a van along the California coast with our dogs, while both of us kept working full-time jobs. That taught us what matters out there: power you never think about, a bed you actually want to sleep in, and systems that keep working when you’re a long way from help. We build every van to that standard.
Built to stay off grid.
- Power: Victron 24V electrical systems with lithium storage up to 600Ah, a MultiPlus 3000VA inverter/charger, Cerbo GX monitoring with a touchscreen, alternator charging, and roof solar as standard.
- Comfort: Havelock Wool insulation for quiet, steady temperatures in any season. An Isotherm Cruise 130 fridge, plus a tank water heater for real hot showers instead of a lukewarm trickle.
- Year-round use: Espar diesel heat is available for winter trips and high-altitude camping.
- Workmanship: We do our own woodwork, metal fabrication, CNC cutting, and electrical in-house. Our team is the same people building your van start to finish, with no parts of the job handed off.
Three build tiers: Sierra, Redwood, and Sequoia. Each one is a starting point that we customize, so you only pay for what you’ll use.
The details:
- Custom builds start at $65,000 (van not included)
- 6–8 week build time
- 3-year / 36,000-mile warranty
- Electrical-only and partial builds also available
If you want a van you can take deep into the backcountry and stay out in for weeks, let’s talk. Come see the shop in Auburn, or reach us at (916) 370-8338 · Adventurebumss.com · [email protected]
