InformationThis bus has been an incredible home and source of fun. When I purchased it, the mileage was 118,200 miles.
As with any custom vehicle, please review all provided documents. A complete Inventory List/Price Justification, Repair History, and Walkthrough Tour are available on the links listed at the top of the page.
This bus offers the ultimate freedom: you can officially ditch rent and restrictive leases! You're buying a ready-made home and adventure platform, not a landlord's rulebook. Your housing cost is now your vehicle, giving you complete freedom and mobility to go wherever the festival or the road takes you.
Vehicle Status, Logistics & Price TransparencyWhile this bus is road-ready and fully equipped for living, like any custom vehicle of this year and mileage, there are important factors to consider. I want you to be fully informed:
Key Advantages & Value- RV Registered: Currently registered as a Recreational Vehicle (RV) in California, resulting in over 50% savings on insurance and registration fees. (I can share my StateFarm contact who easily set up my policy.)
- Off-Grid Power: The custom solar setup, while self-taught (and maybe "ugly"), has always functioned well and provides robust off-grid living capability.
- Diesel Range: Large fuel capacity means fewer stops on long trips.
- Manual Window: The driver's window is manual, eliminating reliance on electric components.
- Emergency-Ready: Includes a powerful jump starter/air compressor, a solar car battery charger, a 20-ton bottle jack, and a full-size spare tire (not a donut).
- New Headlights: Replaced bulbs fairly recently.
- New Batteries: Replaced both batteries (located underneath bus between wheels, not under the hood) fairly recently and likely still have warranty.
- Dual Rear Wheels (Dually): Features a dually configuration (four tires in the back) for superior stability, handling, and load-bearing capacity. A couple of the tires are fairly new.
- New Radiator and Fan Clutch: Replaced last year, significantly enhancing the engine's cooling system reliability.
- Large: 26 feet long, 8.5 feet wide, and almost 10 feet tall, this allows plenty of living space to walk around, stretch out, and not have to hurt your back bending over all the time!
- Back Up Camera: Has a solar backup camera that can be recharged via sunlight or USB cord. It plugs into one of the 12-volt sockets on the dashboard, stays on a few minutes, and you must hit a button or replug it to turn it back on again.
- Privacy: Very dark-tinted windows allow you to see out, but nearly impossible to see in, especially during the day. There are curtains and a privacy window cling film to ensure you are undisturbed.
Important Notes & Quirks (Cons)Logistics & Registration (CA Buyers):- CA Diesel Emissions: Due to new California Diesel laws, registering this vehicle requires an additional special emissions test (approx. $90-$200 annually). While it has always passed for me, failure would require re-registration outside of California or major repairs. If you are already located outside of California or able to register it in another state, you don’t have to worry about this.
- Registration Deadline: Current California registration expires in February. I am seeking to sell before this date to avoid paying renewal and emissions fees, but I have backup plans in place.
- Post-February: Test drives will be limited to private roads or parking lots until the vehicle is purchased and registered out of state.
- 1-Day Trip Permit: makes it legal to drive the vehicle to your home despite having expired registration stickers. We will likely rely on this. Read more at: https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/vehicle-registration/license-plates-decals-and-placards/temporary-operating-permits/
- Pre-February: I am willing to deliver the bus to a serious buyer in a nearby state.
- Oregon Buyers: You can also utilize a 10-day RV trip permit for travel.
Vehicle Functionality:- AC: The Air Conditioning is not currently functioning correctly, but has been this way since my purchase; I successfully lived in the bus through intense desert heat (e.g., Burning Man). The back AC unit is sometimes functional but has issues, the front AC is missing a whole component and won’t work at all. I suggest keeping this vehicle in mild to cooler climates when possible.
- Noise Level: It is a large bus with engine and road noise. It's loud—so turn the professional stereo up!
- Fuel Efficiency: It is not the most fuel-efficient vehicle, and filling the large diesel tank will cost over $100 or more.
- Batteries: There is a weak but constant, slow parasitic draw on the car batteries. If left undriven or unstarted for a few months, they will die. A jump starter and solar charger are included, and a mechanic suggested a simple, cheap on/off battery terminal switch as a permanent fix. The batteries are fairly new, likely still have warranty, and have been maintained and fully charged every month.
- Exterior Running Light: One small built-in exterior light above the back window is likely burnt out and needs a simple bulb replacement. The other running lights next to it are fully operational.
- Oil Change: Likely needs new oil change and fluids checked.
- EGR Valve Notification: A dashboard notification for the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve circuit load came on only once, around 2 years ago, and has not reappeared. A mechanic confirmed it is not an urgent issue and would primarily affect fuel economy if it became a consistent problem.
- Hard Starting (Normal Quirk): The diesel engine typically takes a moment longer than average to turn over. You must hold the key in the ignition position for a few extra seconds before it catches, but this is normal for the bus and has been consistent since I owned it.
Cosmetics & Features:- Cracked Windshield: There is a large crack in the windshield. This has existed since my purchase and has not spread or interfered with my personal driving.
- Paint Job: The paint is non-professional DIY art (spray paint/acrylic) and is chipped in places. You must appreciate DIY aesthetics or plan to easily remove/repaint it.
- Exterior Cosmetic Cracks: There are minor cracks and chips along parts of the exterior body, such as the back frame near the bumper. This damage is strictly cosmetic and does not affect the interior structure or function of the bus.
- Windows: Not all windows open. The narrow tops all slide open, but they are hard to access due to interior paneling (removable). There is one large operational window that fully opens for air ventilation and also serves as an emergency exit.
- Back Door: The locking mechanism on the back door does not have a key, and does not work with a new key. I have added a hooking makeshift lock on the inside of the door that works very well, but it cannot lock from the outside with a key.
- Remotes: There are many small remotes for all the custom lights; most are labeled, but some are a mystery—they are all included just in case!
Sold As-Is Disclaimer:
I have disclosed all known information, quirks, and issues regarding this vehicle. The bus is being sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS, with no warranty expressed or implied. If a pre-purchase or post-purchase inspection finds additional issues not mentioned in this listing, those will be the buyer's sole responsibility and risk. I have been transparent to the best of my knowledge.
