2002 GMC Safari AWD

Ready to Adventure, AWD GMC Safari

I bought this during COVID with a blown head gasket and went all in on the rebuild. 

Spent a small fortune and got my mechanic of 17 years to rebuild a used engine with brand new parts: 

-Fuel injectors and housing

-Serpentine Belt

– Radiator 

-Waterpump

-Thermostat and seal

-Coolant Hose

-Oil pan gasket seal

-Front oil seal

-Exhaust gasket

-AC Delco Iridium Spark plugs

-Main brake line, rear to front

-Brake pads and rotors

-Brake wheel cylinder

-O2 sensors + Mass air flow

Invested another small fortune on all new suspension + needed upgrades from GET LIFTED Tire and Alignment in Leicester, NC: 

-Offroad Journey’s 3″ lift kit

-Rancho RS5000X Shocks

-OE Solutions Leaf Springs

– Driveworks Suspension Stabilizer Bar

-Monroe Struts

-Duralast Gold CV Axle

-Upper control arms (both)

-Control arm bushings

-Tie rod ends

Also comes with Falkan All-Terrain Tires Uhual aftermarket hitch, Yakima 16 Skybox, 100 watt solar panel with brand new Jackery Explorer 300, and electric roof vent. Heat and AC work great. All power windows work fine. Tinted cabin windows. Never got around to replacing the audio unit, but a Bluetooth sound bar does just fine. 

The ABS light is on due to needing the chip module replaced, but brakes work just fine in snow/rain/mud and I’ve never been able to justify the $1,300 to replace. Could get it from a junkyard for cheap. Some light surface rust underneath but nothing problematic. Dent shown in picture on the driver’s side door but does not effect the opening or closing of the door or anything else mechanically.

I drove her to Colorado and back last fall and had zero issues. Engine runs quiet, suspension is springy. Drove like a champ. Great off-road. Never been stuck. 

Had her fully inspected last week and all her fluids topped off and she’s good to go.
