Up for sale is my beloved 2018 Ford Transit family camper van. I purchased this back in 2019 from a dealership when it had only 15,000 miles on it. I have meticulously kept up with the maintenance and oil changes on the van through our local Ford dealership (I have all records printed out). This is the high roof + extended version of the Transit and it gets 15-16 MPG. It is currently registered in California until June.
I built this out for my wife and 3 kids to camp and travel in and it has taken us all around California over the past 5 years. I’m only selling it because my kids are getting older and we no longer fit!
The van comfortably seats 5. The back row of seats was professionally installed at a van conversion center in Orange County. I built the inside for maximum comfort with basic amenities. One solar panel powers our fridge, lights, power inverter, ceiling fan, and outdoor shower pump. The battery is also connected to the main battery in our van, which means that every time you drive the van, it charges the battery (so it’s not just reliant on sunlight). There is no sink or bathroom.
Fridge: Dometic CRX-65 75500.000.21 12/24 Volt DC Compressor Black Refrigerator and Freezer
Solar Panel: Renogy 100 Watt 12 Volt Monocrystalline Solar Panel
Inverter: 1500 W
Fan: MAxxAir Fan
Battery: Renogy Deep Cycle AGM Battery 12 Volt 200Ah, 3% Self-Discharge Rate, 2000A
The back of the van has a handcrafted Claro Walnut slab table and comfortably seats 4-5 people for meals and games. At night, the table drops down and becomes a queen-size bed for sleeping. I also built a loft for the kids that can comfortably sleep two children ages 2-10. The interior height is 75 inches. Other dimensions can be seen in the drawings I made for the van. In terms of storage, we have a lot of options – 2 large drawers under the back seats + a 3-drawer cabinet for storage + a drawer under the fridge. When driving and when parked at home, the loft becomes a perfect storage area for sleeping bags, pillows, and other gear. We have mosquito nets that were custom made for this transit as well.
The outside of the van is in pretty great condition – 7 out of 10. A few small dings here and there, but overall in great condition for the amount of miles on it. The interior is pretty clean too. I just refinished and oiled the Claro Walnut table and all of the solid Maple drawer fronts + cabinet top. Though the floor is well-used – it has some dents, dings, and scratches after 5 years of camping. And one of the small back windows has a missing screen.
If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know! Thanks for looking. Selling for $39,500 OBO.
