Introduction
Meet Marvin!!
He is a four season(like actually four season, like Phoenix when it didn’t get below 100F for weeks straight and Steamboat when it didn’t get above 10F for weeks straight) home on wheels. The interior has all of the needed luxuries with ample storage(again, actual storage, not like throwing a suitcase under the platform bed storage) for clothes, utensils, and supplies. The interior is made to feel like you’re walking into your home, not walking into an RV. The front offers the driver and passenger comfort plus package which has dual OEM swivel seats. Moving back on the drivers side you have a laveo dry flush toilet, two storage drawers, a slide out fridge/freezer, two burner induction cooktop, ample counter space, a chalkboard backsplash, overhead storage and separately controlled over head lights. On the passenger side you have the peninsula that provides heat/hot water, under sink storage, full electronic control panel, a nicely sized under mount sink, faucet and UV water filter. Behind that you will find a nice seating area that accommodates two spaciously and three if you really like one another. Under the couch houses two separate compartments. The plumbing(20g fresh, electric pump, hot/cold water, 6g grey with electric dump valve) and the electrical(see above, solar/alternator/shore hookup charging). The back of the couch folds down to provide clothing storage(and I’m not talking wear the same hoodie you’ve been wearing for the last six days storage). It provides actual clothing storage. Like two weeks worth and change your clothes everyday two weeks worth. Above that you’ll find the bed. Collapsed it is an oversized twin that sleeps one comfortably and two spooning. Expanded, it turns into a bit larger than a queen that sleeps two humans and two dogs(actual dogs, 50# and 90#) comfortably. If you need to accommodate more, the spare bedroom on the roof is actually the best bed in the house. From the rear doors you can access the garage. There are two slide out trays to store all the gear needed. There are also two Yakima ski racks that hold snowboard or skis above all your gear. One hose bib hookup is located here and a second by the slider door. Ceiling lights in the garage allow easy visibility in all conditions. The exterior speaks for itself. You will never get stuck(if you do, it’s the drivers fault not the vans), there is a reason Baja Design lights are so expensive(they’re worth it), if at all possible sleep in the roofnest(best views in the house), you will recover a lot of vehicles because you can, people will stare as you drive by.
In Reality
I bought this new. Built it out. Lived in it for 4 years. Perfected/changed everything that I wanted. I am biased, but I have never come across a better van. It will take you anywhere. You can survive in it anywhere. It is made to actually live in. Like a home. That is what it was for me and that is what it can be for you.
Price
Let’s go ahead and get this out of the way…
The market is flooded and some prices are absolutely obnoxious.
Step 1- Search with an unlimited price range and find a better exterior. I’ll wait.
Step 2- Once you have failed to find one, narrow it down to 140k-150k so we can look at comps. 50% are partial builds. So you can pick if you’d like an upgraded exterior and a platform bed with a Jackery inside or a built interior but then the OEM wheels and tires on the outside. Get rid of those. 25% have AGM batteries from your local PepBoys. Get rid of those immediately. The 25% left are moderate builds but still don’t compare. Find that exterior, with 400w solar, 630ah lithium, heat, A/C and a livable layout.
