2009 Chevrolet Bus 2WD

This is my beloved bus named Carl. He has been our little off grid adventure mobile for the past three years. He has been out to CO twice and was in VT this past summer. This is the second build out in this bus and I learned a lot from the first time around. The second build out is a lot more stout than what you typically seein buses. From the floor up, I sound proofed the entire bus shell (HUGE difference in road noise), 1.5 foam board for insulation, then 3/4 plywood, and coin rubber flooring on top. The floor does not move. Many use 1/2 in which flexes way too much. All cabinets, shelving and the couch are made out of 3/4 plywood for strength. This bus took me over many mountain passes and rumble strip gravel roads to hit up the next MTB trailhead. Carl has 3 belted seats which the black seat next to driver can flip around if you’re hanging out inside. Sink and electrical were made to keep things simple. Sink had a foot pump with 5 gallon jugs. Electrical is run off of 300w panels and 200ah battery. Carl also has Apple car play with an upgraded sound system. Since this was a second vehicle of mine, I made the center of the bed removable so I could carry sheets of plywood. Some other details;

-transmission was replaced at ~70k miles

-rear brakes were all replaced

-hitch is rated for 1000lbs tongue weight, I only used it for bike racks.

-tired have maybe 5000 miles on them? Still have plenty of tread.
