Super-rare Ford Transit high-roof extended that seats AND sleeps 4. Converted by Quigley to 4×4 (2-speed transfer case…better than AWD), this the only 4×4 conversion out there that retains the Ford factory warranty, adds a 2″ lift and doesn’t eat front CV joints like the “other guys”.
Painted in the also rare and quite tasteful “Metallic Fawn” paint color, this thing is one-of-a-kind and gets lots of compliments.
Drivetrain:
With barely 11k miles on the EcoBoost 3.5 liter engine paired to the sturdy 6-speed transmission and limited-slip rear differential, this thing has plenty of GO and will blow the doors off any Sprinter on the road (and will also be in the shop much less often).
Winter Prepped:
This is our Ski Condo on Wheels and as such is fully finished with wool insulation and an Espar gas heater. We’ve had it out on -20 degree nights with zero problems. Features a garage pull-out specially sized for skis (up to 200 cm) with a 500 lb. load limit.
Climate Control:
In addition to the above-mentioned Espar heater, we’ve also got a MaxxFan Deluxe mid-body, with a Coleman Mach-Air Air Conditioner over the beds. Being cold in winter or hot in summer will not be a problem…
Interior Builout:
Handbuilt by the van masters at Rössmonster in Longmont, CO, we have all the creature comforts, with two (yes, really) Isotherm fridges, a Dometic sink (drains to ground…no grey water to deal with), indoor and outdoor showers. High-end cabinets, tons of LED lighting and USB power outlets finish out the inside.
Over at the kitchen, we have a one-burner induction stove and plenty of counter space for meal-prep needs. We’ll also include 2 table options, 1 for the rear dinette (2 people) and another than goes between the front seats for a 4-person meal.
House power is generated by a 200 ah solar array when parked and double alternators while on the road.
Stereo has been upgraded to a Sony unit with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless capability.
Should you need to answer the urgent call of nature, we’ve got a Dry-Flush toilet that lives in the shower enclosure.
Exterior:
On the exterior, we have a Fiamma F45s awning mounted to an Aluminess roof rack for extra storage. Aluminess also supplied the burly front and rear bumpers, with the rear featuring an extra swing-out storage box and spare tire carrier, plus 2 fancy One-Up bike trays to carry your mountain bikes.
On the frontside, we’ve got 2 lightbars with enough illumination to land a 747 at Heathrow…or just find a dispersed camping spot at 11 PM in the boonies.
Wheels/Tires/Suspension:
The van is shod with Mickey Thompson 17″ Baja tires wrapped around Method Racing wheels. Rear leaf springs have been upgraded to Agile Offroad Heavy-Duty leafs ($1400) to keep the rear end high and sway-free on the highway.
Extras:
Our Transit is fully kitted for turnkey adventure and we’ll include all kitchen pots, chef knives, 4 sets of plates/cups/utensils, an extra propane stove (if you want to cook outside), bedding, towels, headlamps and various other camp items.
Other:
Title in-hand and ready to transfer.
Why are we selling? So glad you asked. We LOVE this thing, but have some hefty home improvement in the works and need to take a pause on Van Life.
