2006 Dodge Sprinter T1N
100% Arizona since 2006. It started as a HVAC Parts van for a company and had been well maintained. We purchased the van built it out and traveled with it. We sold it to a great newly retired couple who traveled the US in it. We stayed in contact with them and had an opportunity to buy it back and had big plans for a fresh re-build. We first had a new front end suspension system installed at the best suspension shop in Arizona. We then replaced all 4 tires with top of the line Michelin XPS Rib tires (these tires are a dream to drive with and worth every penny). We then took it to my mechanic for a replacement of the radiator and reservoir (we were seeing warmer temperatures when tackling big grades and just replaced the system to not worry). We added a hitch for our bike rack. We resealed/epoxied the roof and hightop seams last year to keep everything water tight. At this point we stripped the van back down and re built it from the ground up.
-We added Thinsulate insulation to the floor and wheel wells and headliner to keep the ac in and the heat out as well as road noise.
-Driver’s and passenger’s side swivel seats.
-Backup camera
-Kenwood stereo with aftermarket speakers
-The van already had denim insulation and reflectix as a moisture barrier installed to spec.
-We built it out using cabinetry from a local cabinet maker out of Flagstaff AZ.
-Added a simple 12v pump for the sink
-It also has a hand pump for drinking water installed.
-Built out the back using t@g cedar for all the door panels and Baltic birch and aluminum for the bed, garage and installed new Baltic birch wall and roof panels.
-The drawer slide cutting board in the galley is so nice to access. We added a fresh transit double seat to the rear.
-Insulated window covers (low budget but works great)
-Electrical system has been bomber and built using solid proven reliable systems
– 200 watt solar and a blue sea systems automatic charging relay for when driving
-Passenger and drivers side windows 6 years ago and the driver’s side bottom corner tilts open which is great for airflow with the fantastic vent fan
-300 AH of Powersonic AGM batteries and has never been drawn down below 75% capacity for longevity in mind
-Samlex 2000 Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter
-It has a snugger diesel 12v heater installed and has kept us warm down to 9degrees in Park City Utah and can now push lower with the floor insulated and still be comfortable
-LED red driving lights installed to the rear as to safely see in the cabin while underway
-Led strip lighting added to the rear galley and garage
-Refrigerator top of the line Engel SB70 keeps everything cool with minimal draw on the electrical
-Portapotty
-Everything works the way it should and keeps working when we’re getting outside. Over the past 6 years the only issue we have ever had was a fuel line for the diesel heater needed to be replaced which was only a 15 minute repair and a 5$ part. We consider this a BIG WIN.
-The van has been time tested to continually maintained under our ownership for the past 6 years
-We love our van and it has been built to WORK and have worry free fun when we are not working
-What we love about a T1N
· It is super reliable
· Low cost of ownership/service/repair
· Good Fuel Economy (low 20’s mpg). I have gotten as good as high 20’s when driving 55 for a tank. I have never gotten less than 20 even when using our diesel heater nonstop in the winter.
· It is an easy weekend warrior setup. Very quick turnover after a trip.
-We are working professionals who love to get outside. This van has been our home away from home. If it needs something, we fix or maintain it. Mechanically, it is in very good shape and serviced accordingly. Simplicity was important to us as we get outside to unplug and unwind to reconnect and we are stoked to share it with it’s next buyer. We are more concerned about who we sell it to than the price we get. We want this van to go to the right people. Please understand this is a low mileage last year T1N this is a very reliable platform and we would gladly take it anywhere this summer (it’s ready to be used) the oil and fuel/air filter were just changed last month and its ready for another 9,000 miles.
