Build Timelapse and Tour By Request
Interior
Construction with 2×3 poplar studs for framing, and birch plywood for finishing and floors. Insulated with 2 layers of thinsulate spray adhesive in place with a radiant barrier along and metal ribs. Panels were designed with easy access if needed. Storage was a priority in the build, so the interior of the cabinets were design to maximize space and allow variability. Outside of cabinets, there is interior storage above the diver/passenger seats, under the step to the cockpit, and above the sliding door. Natures head composting toilet with urine diverter, and dedicated exhaust. We also have the mushroom exhaust option for the toilet if you wanted to move it outdoors for when you’re staying for a while (or if you just want a better view). Floor mats on steps are removable and interchangeable. There are super low profile curtains rails to separate the cockpit form the van for quick privacy when in town, and at the back. We also have custom fit solar screens for the main window, side windows, and back windows.
Also, there is the tried and true 12v Novakool R4500 4.3 cu ft refrigerator/freezer. This runs on 12v. Not 120v so no inverter needed. Low power consumption, hella cold, and stores far more than I ever thought possible.
Exterior
New offroad tires for additional traction and confidence. Also we added sumo springs for a far better ride. Roof rack is an industrial rack, with 3x solar panels, and a deck for sunset dinners and photos ops. Deck boards are 2×6, sealed and treated, and they are attached via a punched zinc 90 deg for optionality. There is also an external bike rack in case your bike doesn’t fold, and a ladder to get to the top. The spare tire is also mounted to the back. Stupid bright offroad lights are also wired into the ProMaster’s built in AUX 2 switch for a super clean look.
Ventilation
MaxAirPro 7500 with remote control, both intake and exhaust modes, built in thermometer, and auto temp based activation. There is a floor vent which opens at the foot of the bed for additional cooling when the fan is on exhaust mode. Additional USB ports throughout the cabin are great for standard USB fans for additional air flow if/when/where needed. There are also professionally made custom magnetic mosquito screen for all openings: front windows, sliding door, and back door. PLUS the door screens both have magnetic “doors” in the middle for access. There is also a dedicated exhaust for the composting toilet.
Electrical
A huge 400ah LiFePo4 battery bank, with 3x 175W solar panels for 525W of total solar wattage. In addition to the solar for charging the batteries, you can charge with a B2B charger off the engines alternator 60A charging, or externally from a 120V extension cord, a 30A cord, or an optional small generator like the Honda 3000. The battery monitor is a marine grade Pico, with tracking of power consumption in multiple categories (lights, fridge, 12v outlets, etc), charge rates from solar, tank level, and temps. Plus there is room to glow. There are tons of USB charging ports throughout, multipole 120V outlets. There are 4 interior light zones, the kitchen, the bedroom, in the garage, and the shower/bathroom. This allows you to set tons of different moods and lighting combos. We added fairy lights too.
Water system
2x 20gal over the wheel well fresh water tanks. Shurflo pump with strainer, accumulator and dampeners. Good flow shower with removable shower head for easy use and cleaning. 20gal grey water tank under the van where the spare tire was originally located. There is a 120V water heater installed and use with shore power is recommended. Shower has a self cleaning opaque white sliding door. A deep sink with adjustable height head. Sink also has a location for integrated soap dispenser (the dispenser unit and reservoir are included). The sink can drain to either overboard OR into a separate 5 gal tank. Hose, filter, and everything included.
Garage
There is TONS of storage and a slide out sled / bike rack. There is enough room for 2 folding bikes or 2 inflatable yaks/paddleboards with room to spare for either. On the driver’s side there is a deep isolated/protected storage for fishing poles, paddles, etc. Under the slide out rack was perfect for tool storage, fishing tackle, spare parts, etc. There are also multiple strap points to help keep it all snug. Access to the garage is via the back, or an interior door at the bed. From the inside you have easy access to 2 level storage on the passenger and driver’s side (we put a safe in the bottom of one with the water heater in the other).
Extras
We also have hundreds of gigs of photos and videos of the build, tons of spare parts, loads of upgrades, and more.
