OWNERSHIP HISTORY
To my knowledge, we are the third owners.
We purchased the van in fall of 2022 from a couple who did a summer of van life and then moved on. I believe they owned the van for around 1 year and did one big road trip with it. Before them, the van belonged to an assisted living community who used it for transporting residents.
We have used taken the van on maybe ten local excursions and one long road trip last winter from Nashville to the San Francisco Bay Area and back. Absolutely no issues with the vehicle on the trip; it drove like a dream.
We are only selling this van because we just aren’t using it enough.
MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR HISTORY
Before we bought the van, the previous owners had the suspension replaced with an aftermarket kit. I don’t know the details, but it drives so smooth.
Fall 2022:
-New Tires
-New Front Brakes
-New Front Brake Rotors
-Repacked wheel bearings
-Fixed exhaust leak. Replaced broken exhaust manifold and bolts with racing-quality hardware to prevent future heat-induced breaks.
Winter 2022:
-Replaced rear wheel cylinders
-Addressed emissions issue:
-replaced an ignition coil
-new spark plugs
-cleaned/replaced sensors
Summer 2023
-Replaced dead battery with brand new battery
ISSUES
-The van has an intermittent Check Engine light that is thrown for an emissions issue. Multiple mechanics advised us not to worry about the issue.
-Side door does not open from outside. It has to be opened from inside with a nudge.
CONVERSION HISTORY
The basics of the conversion have been done. A bed with two large drawers that open at the rear, as well as storage space and another drawer that opens toward the front, are ready to live out of.
In Winter 2022, I replaced the grooved panelling the former owner had used for the conversion with redwood panelling purchased in California. The conversion still has some rough edges that can be finished over time, but the van can be used comfortably for long road trips or living that van life.
I also installed a hinged bed-panel extension to allow for a longer mattress. The extension legs fold up under and the extension can be closed down to make for an extra ~24" of space.
